We read in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”About two years back I saw on TV, the remarkable story of Yun, a Chinese Evangelist. He is also called by the name, “The Heavenly Man”. He got saved at the age of sixteen and he began to preach the Gospel. He was so zealous for the Gospel that he started an underground church, which was prohibited in China. In China you cannot preach the Gospel without the supervision of the Chinese Government. He preached the Gospel and turned many to Christ and because of this he was counted as a criminal in China. He was arrested several times and was interrogated and asked to reveal the names of the believers of his church, but he refused. The police told him, “if you cannot tell the whereabouts of your church members, still we know how to get their names”, and they gave him severe punishments. They beat him with chains and with steal boots and tortured him. Finally when he was in prison for the third time they crushed both of his legs so that he could never escape from the prison. He was unable to walk and so they used to carry him if they wanted to take him somewhere. He writes in his book that he was 39 years old and there was no hope for his future. He told the Lord, "When I was young you called me to preach your gospel in the west and south. How can I do that now? I'm sitting here in this prison with crushed legs.... I'll never see my family again.... I cried out to the Lord, echoing Jeremiah's words, "Oh God, why have you afflicted me so that I cannot be healed? I hoped for peace, but no good has come.... I have neither lent nor borrowed, yet everyone curses me." Jeremiah 15:10 252He further wrote, “Once again the words seemed to leap off the paper and into my spirit. It was a very holy time, as though God Almighty Himself had descended into my cell and was dealing with me face to face. ... I wept....My Lord comforted me like a loving father holding his little boy. He reassured me with the next verse, "The Lord said, 'Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose: surely I will make your enemies plead with you in times of disaster and times of distress.'" Jeremiah 15:11”One night as he was totally desperate and in hopeless situation he saw Jesus standing by his side. Jesus said to him to get up and walk. He was very weak to get up and even he forgot that his legs were crushed and he could not walk. He said Lord, how can I go outside, “I am in maximum-security prison. There are heavy iron gates locked with big locks and guards are standing at every gate. There is no way I could walk out of those doors.” Jesus looked at him and said, “There may be no way out but I am the way.” And when Jesus told him again he stood up and walked. Jesus said to him to follow Him. He said that the iron gates of prison opened one by one as he followed Jesus, the guards looked as if they were staring at him but did not move. Finally when they came out, Jesus waved to one taxi and he rode away from that prison as a free man. The report says that no one ever escaped from that maximum-security prison. Yun is preaching the Gospel all over the world as Jesus promised him before. Two thousand years ago Jesus claimed, “I am the Way”, those words are still same and true. No matter how difficult and impossible the situation looked yet Jesus made a way and brought him out and made him free.The same Jesus can bring you out of all your troubles and can make a way where there is no way out. Are you seeing no way out? Look to Jesus, He is the way. He can make a way for you.
Gladness in my Heart
Psa 4:7-8, “You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased. I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.”If you read news or watch TV news you will be reminded again and again that economy is in very bad shape. Many have lost their jobs; houses and many are in debt. Those types of news trouble us often. Problems, poverty, sickness and death of loved ones bring trouble in our lives. But the psalmist talks about great peace and great gladness in his heart. He compares the great joy, the great peace which those will have, those who have much to eat and drink and says that his joy and peace is far greater than the increase of their grain and wine. How could he be in such peace and in such joy? How could this type of great gladness and peace come in the heart of the Psalmist? I want to bring your attention towards the words of Jesus spoken in Mat 11:28, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Jesus came in this world to give us great peace and joy that this world cannot give. Because of sin we are under heavy load of curse. Sin brought all kinds of disaster in this world. Sin pushed us to all kinds of misery and pain. But Jesus said, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Jesus came to cancel every curse of sin, misery and pain. He came to redeem us from the heavy load we are carrying because of sin. Isaiah prophecies in Isa 61:1-3, “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."When we go to Jesus, He forgives and forgets all our sins and cleanses us. When all our sins are gone, great peace and joy fills our heart. That is what happened to the Psalmist. His life changed when he gave his burdens to the Lord and put his trust in Him. Even today if we bring all our burdens to the Lord, if we bring all our sins and sinful nature to the Lord and ask for His forgiveness, He is ready to forgive and forget all our sins. He is ready to wash away all our sins with His precious blood which was shed on the cruel cross. He is ready to pull us out of all our peacelessness and fill us with great joy and peace that this world cannot give.Do you want such great peace and joy in your own lives? Come to Jesus and give your life to Him. He will make your life beautiful.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 13th Jan. 2009
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 13th Jan. 2009
