Some days back an article was in Chicago Tribune that we can celebrate Christmas but we should not say anything about Christmas or Christ. We should say this is holiday season, we can go for carol singing but we should not say any word about Christ and Christmas songs and so on..... We want to celebrate Christmas, omitting the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. What a tragedy? If we omit Christ, why we should celebrate Christmas at all? There is no Christmas without Christ. There is no Christmas without Messiah. The Bible says in Mat 1:21 "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." Yes, Jesus came into this world to save us from our sins. There is forgiveness of sins in Christ Jesus. Will you look to Him and open your heart to receive the king of kings and Lord of Lords? Christmas season fills joy and happiness in our heart. But how many times we do not even think of the significance of Christmas. Very often we forget the great sacrifice of God who sent His only begotten son to save us from our sins. The Bible says in, "John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."A gift that gives us everlasting life: Because God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten son. And whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life. Yes, There is a life after death. Science also proves that after death soul separates from body and it goes to one of the two places. One is very beautiful and another is very horrible. And you have to decide where you will be after death? You have to chose either everlasting death (hell) or everlasting life (heaven). And Bible says that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. What a great promise of Him. At this Christmas choose everlasting life, receiving the gift of God.A gift that gives us pure life: The Bible says in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Rev 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood..." When a person accepts Christ in his or her heart He washes all our sins with His precious blood which He shed on the cruel cross. And thereafter He gives strength to live a pure life. A life that is pleasing to God.A gift that gives us richness and prosperity: 2 Cor 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich." God does not want us to be in poverty or in miserable state but He wants us to be prosperous in our lives. He wants to give us all richess and happiness in our lives that's why He became poor for us so that we may be rich through Christ. May God richly bless you in this Christmas and all through the coming year!
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 14th Feb. 2012
