Matthew 28:20, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Jesus told these things to His disciples before ascending to heaven, "lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." What happens when Jesus lives with us? What happens when Jesus comes and dwells with us or be with us always? Let us look at the life of Joseph. Joseph was the beloved of his father. He lost his mother when he was just a little boy. He was a victim of his brothers hatred. His own brothers tried to kill him but later they sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt. Within a few moments Joseph lost everything. He lost his freedom and became a slave boy. He lost his father and his family members. Oh, how much he might have cried and thought, "why this happened to me only? Why?" Yes, many a times we go through very difficult situations and we cry out, "why this happened to me only? But Joseph’s story does not end here. The Bible says in Genesis 39:1, "Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. Genesis 39:2, "The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian." And finally he became the governor of Egypt, in a land where he was a slave boy. Bible says here that, "The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man…" Yes, when God would be with you, you will be a prosperous person, a successful person. In the midst of your problems, in the midst of tears, in the midst of heart breaking experiences, He will comfort you and console you. That’s why Jesus said, "lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." But look at the life of Saul. Once God was with him, but because he disobeyed God, he lost the presence of God. He lost his peace of mind and he lost his joy and happiness. Finally he lost his kingdom and even his life. Why? Because God departed from him.(1 Samuel 28:15) Yes, when God is not with a person, his/her life is worthless, there is no meaning in living that life. And the sad part of Saul was that he never repented from his sins and thus destroyed himself. But if we look at the life of Samson we see that he almost went through the same situation. As long as he walked worthy before God, God was with him and he could see victory after victory but the Bible says that God departed from him as he allowed shave off his hairs(Judges 16:20). The enemy took him and put out his eyes and he became a grinder in the prison. (Judges 16:21) Yes, Samson lost everything just like Saul, but we see the difference in the life of Samson that he repented from his sins. We read in Judges16: 24-30 that This final act in Samson's life reversed the overall pattern of his life which had resulted in his delusion, captivity, blindness, degradation, bondage, and drudgery . Coming at a time of doubt and spiritual distress, it provided the basis for his being listed among the champions of faith (Hebrew 11:32). God responds in grace to an unworthy man's act of repentance and faith. Are you going through the same situation today and thinking, "why it happened to me?" Oh, if Jesus is with you, He will help you to come out from all your situations and He will wipe away all your tears. But if Jesus is not with you, invite Jesus in your life today. If you did backslide from the ways of God and lost everything in your life then too it is not late. You can begin again as Samson did. He not only regained his strength but the Palestine whom he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life. If you have any prayer request please feel free to send it to us. As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 14th Feb. 2012
