About 2000 years ago a child was born in a small place called Bethlehem. Though at the time of his birth his parents had no proper place to stay and as a result of it he was born in a manger, yet he was no ordinary child. He was the Savior of the world, Creator Himself, who took the form of a man in order to save the lost humanity. When He was born an angel came to the shepherds and said, (Luke 2:10), "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people." Other angels and heavenly hosts sang melodiously "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"The very purpose of Jesus' birth was to give peace, goodwill and the good news of great joy to people. Once Jesus said in Mat 11:28, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." At times when He looked at people who were in pain, who were sorrowful, going through various problems, afflicted by many sicknesses and in tears, He was moved with compassion for them. Bible says that, "When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd (Mat 9:36)."Even today He moves with compassion for each and every one of us. Are you sinking in sin and addictions today? Are you going through problems today? Are you going through tears today? Are you sick and suffering today? Jesus is moving with compassion for you. He wants to forgive your sins and cleanse you. He wants to solve your problems. He wants to wipe away your tears. He wants to fill your life with laughter. Come to Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Savior and you will never be the same again.You might have celebrated Christmas many times but you may still be living in misery and pain. The reason is very simple, Christ has not been born in your heart. You may be attending Church regularly and might have been born in a Christian family but if Christ is not born in your heart, you cannot enjoy His peace, great joy and blessings which He gives. Bible says that, "He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:11-13)" Let the Savior of the world be born into your hearts in this Christmas season and turn around your life completely.
There are many religions and many religious leaders in this world. Just as the religious leaders are not perfect religions are also not perfect. We can see so many differences in religious rituals. The ultimate goal of doing all these things is to get into heaven. But can rituals, fulfilling religious duties or following some traditions give us the right to go to heaven? In recent times we have heard about so many religious/political leaders involved in different types of frauds and illegal activities. There were many Catholic and other priests who were caught by police because they were involved in homosexual or illegitimate sexual activity. Last month when the PLO leader Arafat was dying, there was rumor that he was dying with AIDS because of his homosexual lifestyle. A few days back a Hindu cleric Shankaracharya was arrested in connection with a murder case. According to the reports he was fed up with one temple worker who constantly threatened to disclose his secret life. When we hear these types of news, it makes us wonder how these religious leaders who perform all the religious rights perfectly are themselves involved in the same illegal activities? Once a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews came to Jesus. Jesus spoke to him very clearly that, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.(John 3:3)" Even though Nicodemus was the ruler of the Jews who was a spiritual leader yet Jesus told him, "unless you are born again, you cannot enter into heaven." Jesus made it clear that your religious position or your religious rituals cannot save you because you are still dead in your spirit and you need to be born of the spirit. You must be born again.Many think that "born again" word is very offensive. They think that it is some different kind of religion. But Jesus used these words and spoke clearly that being born again is a compulsory requirement if we want to go to heaven. Bible tells us in Isa 64:6, "But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away." Our good works or our righteous deeds, may be applauded and appreciated by the world but it is just filthy rags before God. You cannot please God with filthy rags. You cannot win the heart of God with your righteous works. God is only pleased with a heart full of repentance, a contrite and broken spirit. He wants you to repent from your sins and turn to Him. Will you do that? You may be a religions leader, you may be a social worker, you may be living a good life in the sight of your community or your nation but if you are not "born again" you will not enter into heaven. Turn to God and be born again so that you could live with God in heaven forever.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 14th Feb. 2012
